This is my current project!
Work in progress
The Product
FurEver Home is an app that aims to help future pet owners easily find a pet. In return, this also aims to help adoption shelters and individuals looking to rehome their pets easily find people who are seeking. This app will also provide resources for people on how to choose and care for their pets.
Duration
November 2022 - Present
Project Overview
The Problem
Pets are often abandoned or put down when they are unable to find a home. The abandonment of pets can lead to invasive species.
My Role
UX designer designing an app for FurEver Home from conception to delivery.
The Goal
The goal is to create an app to easily help future pet owners meet pets from local adoption centers to adopt or foster pets.
My Responsibilities
Brainstorming, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting interviews and usability studies, accounting for accessibility, and iterating on designs.
Understanding the User
Summary
I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to better understand the users I'm designing for. The target group were animal-lovers who are one day thinking or dreaming of adopting and/or fostering a pet as well as adoption center workers. Research has shown that future pet-owners often are overwhelmed with which pets to choose from as well as how to go about the adoption process while adoption workers find it frustrating to find people to follow through their words.
